Really irritating noise from the front wheels. Any advice is great

Hello everyone.

Starting to come to the end of my love with this car as it has had this noise for around 3-4 months now & 4000 miles later it's still there still the same, was kind of hoping it would fix itself or it would get worse & pin point an issue but sadly not..

Anyway the noise in question...

It sounds like when your brake pads/discs are on the way out almost like a metal on metal noise, replaced the discs & pads & checked for any stones near the disc guard.. Nope still there..

It happens I'd say around 20mph-40mph & then due to speed or engine noise it's not something to be heard, you can hear it any gear that I have tried mainly 3rd 4th as lower speeds in lower gears, a lot easier to hear who you are rolling on the brakes. Does not sound like a wheel bearing as it's more sporadic when it happens however does almost seem rotational not engine speed related which kind of pin points to the wheel area I would of thought. Do not get any feel through the pedals or steering & gets no worse if turning nor does it get better, car drives spot on & no hesitation anywhere.

Took it to my local Indy & he took out for a spin, I heard it ever so faintly he said he could hear nothing so drew a blank & he also said highly doubt would be a wheel bearing.

Can anyone try & point me in the right direction here or has this happened to you if so what was it?

Thanks very much for any help what so ever really do appreciate it.

Should probably add that the car is an e91 320d with 66k miles 2011

Shaun
