How essential is a DSP for a logic7 level upgrade?
Long story short, I can't bear to listen to my hifi any schlonger. It has a way of making music so unenjoyable to listen to lol. My previous e90 had Logic7 and the BSW upgrade and I was quite happy with it. I'm not an audiophile and don't plan to spend a ton of money but I'm ready to upgrade it. I plan to use a JL xd600/6 or possible an alpine PDX amp paired with one of several speaker options (considering MB Quart's kit, used focal K2s, OEM EPS/dirac, or perhaps OEM L7 speakers). Do I need a DSP? Seems like without one, it could be done pretty cheaply. If it's essential, what about a JBL MS-8, to be used as an amp and DSP? I'm not looking to win any contests but I'd like to get back to the quality of sound I had before--OEM Logic7 quality or better would make me happy. I'm not an expert in car audio but I've tried to do my research before asking questions. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
