A Sad day at BMW San Antonio

Luxury took a beating in North San Antonio on Tuesday night. The hail storm pummeled an entire fleet of BMW’s at a local dealership.

If you’re in the market for a BMW, you might be in luck. Mother Nature put the ultimate driving machine to the test during a hail storm.

The day was anything but luxurious at BMW of San Antonio. The dealership is recovering from a hail storm that nearly pounded its fine fleet to finality.

Nick Vanderpool, the general manager at BMW of San Antonio, didn't want to go on camera, but says that severe weather battered his entire fleet of cars. He's calling it a total loss. The damage to the vehicles: millions of dollars.

Windows are shattered all over his car lot: 300 Beamers to be exact.

He and employees started covering the busted windshields with plastic. But there is so much damage that, by sunrise, the plastic wrap was gone.

The storm ravaged vehicles are loner cars, brand new BMWs, cars being serviced, and customers who were purchasing a piece of luxury until the storm happened. If there is any good news, customers will have a shot a buying a BMW for a reduced rate in a forthcoming hail sale.

Vanderpool says he has hundreds of brand new Beams to replace the damaged ones. They should be on the lot some time next week.
