428i Transmission Malfunction

Hello everyone,



I got a 428i today and after 5 hours when i was leaving the mall car just stopped and i received an error saying "transmission malfunction" and car wouldnt start at all. This is my first bmw so i am not sure what cause this problem. They towed the car to nearest dealer and i am gonna find out what is wrong tomorrow.



When i press the start button it would shake like trying to start but nothing happens. I am kinda worried since this is a brand new car and i am the first owner. I cant even imagine what would i do if this happened on freeway. Car literally stop didnt even give me a time to pull over to safe spot.



My question is what might have cause this issue? I read on this forum someone had a similar with fuel pump with same symptoms. Would that be the issue? Also is there a way to reset to get the car so i can start the car?
