Does the PDC always suck or is mine just broken?

I have found the rear park distance control on this car to be virtually useless most of the time. Sometimes it makes a lot of noise at me even when theres nothing immediately behind me, and it seems a bit slow to update sometimes. For example, I start backing up, then stop completely. It starts beeping while I'm stopped and the beeping gets more frequent even though I'm not moving at all.



I'm leaning towards the system just being junk because it doesn't seem like its entirely broken or anything, the car in general knows when I am approaching an object when reversing but it just seems so slow to react that I ignore it and use my eyes instead. (Yes, that's the way it ought to be anyway but it'd be nice if the system was good too)
