I have a car lift like the one in the pic below at the place where I work and need to use it to get some work done on my e92.
The issue is that the pads on the lift are about 6" off the ground in their lowest position, so it can't fit under the car and I have to raise the car about 3" first so the arms of the lift can fit in position underneath the frame. How would you guys proceed to lift the car?
I was thinking about putting a hydraulic jack 1/2 way between the front and rear wheel and lift one side of the car just enough to slide the arms of the car lift in place, then do the same on the other side, but I'm afraid I'll bend or damage something by doing this since it's not a recommended point to lift the car from.
Any other suggestions?
