Anyone had any experience expanding the wheel wells?

On my widebody, I'm running into rub issues at about 50% lock. Running a 275/35/18 in front on a 18x9.5-8 wheel. It doesn't help that these tires run very wide and is probably closer to a 295.

I've seen on other platforms where the wheel well is hammered out slightly and with a bit of precision in order to fit taller tires. I'm curious if anyone has done that on this platform? My main issue isn't overly tall tires, but moreso a negative offset kicking the tire out further past the pivot point.

My widebody is pretty mild, only 2.5" at every corner. I've seen quite a few LB and LB knockoff kits that push the tire out much further than I am. Surely, there must be a way.
