Hifi loudspeaker amp? ?

Hi all I've got the hifi loud speaker system in my car..but the under seat subs ain't working on both sides but all other speakers seem fine just no bass what so ever .. I managed to source another set of subs so installed one side but still nothing so I believe the amp was the problem ..sourced the position of the amped and removed this see picture attached ....

My question is is the amp to blame seen as everything else is working off the amp ? now this is removed I have no stereo ect as to be expected..

And I've looked on eBay at a replacement and there around £130 to replace second hand but even though they look the same the have deferential model numbers ie..e46.e82 or as mine says e92..does this really matter as they all say verst hifi ect..

And last question is for the price of a replacement and I'm sure you will all recommend maybe an upgrade ? But seen as I've never had Base in my car since owning maybe just a fix will suffice for now

Thanks

Double Din HU CHOICES?

Hi, all!

Received a phone call from my installer today, and he said that the new Dynavin N6 is not available at the moment, as there have been some problems with the new N6 and the main authorized dealer in TAIWAN decided to stop supplying the HU FOR NOW. I guess the last option I have now is to go with a double din HU! Has anyone successfully installed a double din HU without losing any of the OEM functions?....I.e.steeringwheel button control, pdc, etc. What is the best double din mounting bracket for our cars? Any advice and suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Decent pair of in-ears with a decent price

I am looking for a decent pair of in-ears, not an audiophile but like to listen to music and watch stuff.
this pair would mostly be on fights, whether with the in-flight entertainment system of listening or watching on my phone/tablet.
i really can't justify spending a few hundred or thousands of dollars on a pair of earphones, am looking for maybe within the $200 range with the best bang for this buck.

i bought a Klipsch on-ear and sound was great, but sometimes it's a problem to carry with the case especially when travelling, and it does get uncomfortable sometimes since i wear eye glasses.

have just started looking at Sennheiser Momentum and the AKG K376

any recommendations?
i think i would prefer wired earphones, so don't need to worry about the battery charging.
don't need the mic or volume controls since i won't be using it for phone calls

Manual Trans: Mt-90 and RE mounts review

I replaced my transmission fluid with redline MT-90 today. If you live in in colder weather (I'm in Florida) you might wanna go with MTL. Also replaced the stock trans mounts with ones from Rogue Engineering.

I did these at the same time, so this is the compounded effect.
Shifts feel great!
Zero NVH increase.
Less rubbery when switching gears. Notychyness is still there, but it feels good notchy. Like instead of the notchyness keeping you out of the next gear, it lets you know that it's in.

It's hard to explain the effect, but know this- If you go this route, you will not be disappointed!

So, I installed my downpipe today..

Finally got the motivation to install my VRSF downpipe that's been sitting in my garage for months. Overall not a bad install; time consuming for sure. I pushed through everything without any issues until I had to re-install the V band clamp; fuck! I bet I was fighting with that for a good 30 minutes on my back. Had to stop, walk away and consult to the almighty e90post. Someone posted they had to pinch the clamp with a pair of pliers to get a bite on the bolt. Wish I would've read that before! All in all, it took about 3 hours from start to finish.

Car feels great! I'm still on stock intercooler w/ charpipe and intake. The car definitely pulls harder and spools up quick. It does help today was a nice 70 degrees outside. I was in the process of installing my 7" VRSF intercooler until I broke my only dremel wheels I had so that will have to wait. I might take the bumper off so I can cut the fins. I want that FMIC up front and center for all to see.

Help; doors will not unlock

I did some research online and all answers point to blown fuse 57 and or 56.

Turns out fuse 57 was blown BUT replacing it changed nothing How can that be? I even changed 56. Both from 15 to 20 amp.

What puzzled me is that the drivers door will lock with the key fob (and is the only door that reacts when I click the key for locking) but does not react when i click the unlock button, none of the doors react when trying to unlock so I have to use the key within the key fob..

No shops open until wednesday (we celebrate something Christian i Norway during this period..) and I reeeeeally need the rear doors to open soon..

Anyone??

NY Post
‘We’re running a f—ing casino’: Politician tells all in manifesto
By Carl Campanile May 13, 2016 | 12:12am

An anonymous congressman has dropped a bombshell election-year book that confirms why Americans hate their national government and have rallied to anti-establishment presidential candidates like Donald Trump.

The veteran politician lays bare a rotten and corrupt Congress enslaved by lobbyists and interested only in re-election in an anonymous, 65-page manifesto called “The Confessions of Congressman X.”

“Like most of my colleagues, I promise my constituents a lot of stuff I can never deliver,” he admits. “But what the hell? It makes them happy hearing it . . . My main job is to keep my job.”

The House member — a Democrat who is either still in Congress or served sometime over the past two decades — says more time is spent fundraising than reading bills and calls Washington a “sinkhole of leeches.”

The title of one chapter sums up his view of congressional leaders: “Harry Reid’s a Pompous Ass,” he says of the Senate Democratic leader.

The book, published by the small Mill City Press, is based on years of transcribed private discussions, which the congressman last November gave editor Robert Atkinson. Atkinson declined to say whether Congressman X is a current or former House member.

X says the cloak of anonymity gave him the freedom to expose *secrets, including how the public’s money is wasted.

“We spend money we don’t have and blithely mortgage the future with a wink and a nod. Screw the next generation. It’s about getting credit now, lookin’ good for the upcoming election,” he says. He said he and his colleagues often lie to try to be all things to all people instead of tackling the nation’s problems.

“I contradict myself all the time, but few people notice,” X says. “One minute I rail against excessive spending and ballooning debt. The next minute I’m demanding more spending on education, health care, unemployment benefits, conservation projects, yadda, yadda, yadda.”

Voters are described as gullible, know-nothing jerks, while the only people who count are the big donors who pour billions of dollars into lobbying. “Voters are incredibly ignorant. It’s far easier than you think to manipulate a nation of naive, self-absorbed sheep who crave instant gratification . . .,” vents Congressman X.

He says money “corrupts” and House members are “puppets” to lobbyists who bankroll their campaigns. “Business organizations and unions fork over more than $3 billion a year to those who lobby the federal government. Does that tell you something? We’re operating a f–king casino,” he says.

He describes himself as a “closet moderate” who supports charter schools and tax vouchers to allow poor kids to go to private schools. But students take a back seat to partisan politics. “Our education’s in the toilet, and all we do is snipe at each other,” he says.

Congress is too polarized and partisan to get anything done, by the congressman’s account.

“There seems to be a complete disintegration of confidence in government. A fear that government is its own special interest,” he says. “America’s on an irreversible decline and no one in Washington seems to care . . . God help us.”

The controversial book set off a guessing game in the political world about the author’s identity. New York sources speculated it’s Rep. Steve Israel (D-LI), a moderate who announced he’s retiring and who has complained about the constant need to fundraise to finance re-election campaigns.

But Israel, a novelist, denied that he took pen to paper this time. “Absolutely not true, never heard of it before. And frankly, now that I’m leaving Congress, if I were to write a book like that, I would put my name on it,” *Israel said in a statement.

24MM nut on Wishbone

Hey guys, I"m trying to get the 24MM self locking nut off the spindle side of the wishbones on my 2008 335XI. I've applied WD-40 and also Liquid Wrench. I cannot fit a 24MM or 15/16th socket and attach the wrench because it would hit the driveshaft boot where it attaches to the hub. So, I've been trying to "double-wrench" wherein I lock a long wrench to the open end of my 24mm, and use the "closed end" of that wench to wrap around the locking nut at issue.

The darn thing just doesn't budge...

Any suggestions?

FS: Flex XC 3401 w/ 5" backing plate plus pads

I purchased this and a lot of detailing equipment thinking I would take the time to learn the craft and spend time detailing my 335..... work picked up and I find myself with little to no time to pick up "new" hobbies.

The polisher itself has been very lightly used. The previous owner used it ~12 times and I never got around to taking the time to learn how. There is some scratching on it from placing it down while working but its all purely cosmetic.

It includes an additional smaller 5" backing plate for use with smaller pads for less heat.

What's included:

* Flex XC 3401 VRG
* 5" backing plate
* 3x Detail Addict Hydro Tangerine Ultra Polishing Foam 5.5”
* 3x Detail Addict Hydro Cyan Advanced Cutting Foam 5.5"
* 1x Detail Addict Hydro Crimson Finishing Foam 5.5"

Shipping included to the lower 48 - $350
(Retail is $389 for the Flex, $40 for the 5" plate, $12 each for the pads, $513 total value!)

PM if interested.

Wavetrac Differential 3.08

I had this wavetrac differential in my manual 2011 135i for just under a year and put about 10k miles on it during that time, used redline fluid. If you're not familiar, the gear ratio for the manual n55 is 3.08. Diff still works perfectly! I'm upgrading to an F80, so it's time to sell all the goodies. I'll also include the HP Autosport wrench needed to install the diff. $1800obo shipped, make me an offer!

Need advice on A/C repair.

Need advice on A/C repair.

Hey guys! I've been having some issue with my 2007 335's A/C for the past 2 years. It started with warm air coming through half of the vents and cold air out the other half. After checking in this forum I learned that that happens when you're low on refrigerant and that I probably have a leak. So for the short term, I picked up a can of the A/C Pro refrigerant that comes with the low pressure gauge and I gave it some charge. Well that seemed to do the job and for a while everything seemed ok for about a year.

Well this year I started noticing a whirring noise that would change in pitch based off of engine rpm that I could especially hear when the rpm's are low. I gave the system a little more charge but that didn't do anything to remedy the sound. I did some more research and found that it could be the compressor wheel bearings or the system may be low on lubricant. Knowing that the cheaper of the 2 issues to fix was the lubricant, I ordered a set of coupler adapters for an old manifold gauge set i got from my dad. I also picked up a charge can of PAG 46 oil from autozone that contained 3oz of fluid ( 1 oz pag 46 oil, 1 oz 134a refrigerant, 1 oz ac line conditioner).

Yesterday I got to work. I connected to manifold set to my high and low lines. I burped the lines of the gauges to make sure I wasn't introducing any air into the system. Connected and added all of the charge can to the system. Cleaned up and made sure everything was running ok. I then ran the a/c for 20 minutes and found that the whirring noise went away .

The next day I started up my car and the noise was still gone. Butt... after driving around for an hour the noise started coming back. It still is a lot quieter than it was last week. So I guess I've got more work to do... So in figuring out next steps I went ahead and added some UV dye to help locate a leak. So moving forward, I've got a few questions hopefully someone would be so kind to answer.

Question 1:
After I was adding the oil charge, the readings for the low/high side was 30/200 psi and the ambient temperature was 72f. Going by the charts on this page http://ift.tt/1TfgOfm
My low is slightly too low and my high is slightly too high meaning there is some blockage in the system. Are these numbers far enough beyond normal that I need to start disassembling the A/C system to hunt for blockage?

Question 2:
After I added the dye, I checked all of the lines visible from above the engine compartment and found no leaks. I know that a common failure point is the evaporator that is buried in the dash and that it's a monster bitch to get to. I still need to check from beneath the car and underneath the airbox. Any other suggestions for places to look?

Question 3:
Does anyone have any more general advice or actions involving my current situation.

Thanks in advance guys. This board has been very helpful so far.

Backspacing question

Does anyone know if a 7.5" backspacing will work on an E90 and E92 335i?

I am looking at 15x10 with a 7.5bs but don't know if they will fit with out rubbing. I know they don't fit over the factory brakes I have already went to a smaller rear brake to allow for the 15" wheels.

I went to get an oil change at the dealership and they told me I have a Cylinder Head Cover gasket leak. When I searched it up online all I could find is valve cover gasket and head gaskets leaks, I'm confused!?. Is there a difference between my leak and the ones I just stated? If so can someone send me the part# for the gasket!

They quoted me around $800, it is about 6hrs of labor($120/hr ).
