E92 with replaced dct transmission under warranty worth buying?

Hi all, I'm in the market for an used e92. I checked one locally with no accident before and still under warranty. But the transmission was replaced under warranty. How does it affect the value of the car? It's a dct transmission.

Thanks in advance.

A reminder of how fast the 335d/435d is

Came across this video of a 435d and it is especially impressive at accelerating in the wet with launch control - essentially no loss of traction.

I've took some very crude timings from that video for the hell of it.

0-100 km/h (0-62mph) - 4.3s

0-160 km/h (0-100mph) - 10.6s

Sounds nice too.....:D

fog light size?

i keep seeing two different sizes...i have sport package not the m tech...is it h11? so confusing lol

For sale today we have my Forgestar F14 wheels with Hankook v12 tires. I had these wheels powder-coated semi-matte black. These have TPMS's (pre-LCI version).

I'm looking for $1200, pickup only in 06460

rear: 19x10 +38 (tires: 275/30/19)

one wheel has a little curb damage, should be easily fixable at any reputable place:

Snowboard rack

So I discovered that my BWM roof rack system from my E90 M3 will fit the F80. I just need to adjust the width a little....easy to do. Now the question I have is what are you guys using to actually hold the boards?

Previously I had the BMW board carrier but you can only carry 2 boards. I need room for 4.

Will a thule or other easily mount to bmw cross rail without those ugly clam shell brackets? I.e. Can you use some sort of t-nut to bolt it directly to the cross rail channel? How much depth do you have for bindings?

Pictures!

Thanks

interior led bulbs - FRM

Hi Guys,

I've recently upgraded the interior bulbs to LED ones. When scanning on DIS it shows errors to front and back interior bulbs, I guess due to the low voltage.

I've been reading that on 300 startup's that if a fault is still present that it will shut down the FRM and it will need to be reset again.

is this true with interior bulbs and should I just return them back to standard.

Thanks

Good All Season Tire Choice

I'm in need of some new tires - I purchased some kumho ecsta's in March and needless to say they've been in need of replacement since June. Overall I thought the tires handled great but they wore extremely quick.

I'm looking for something that can handle a bit of snow when necessary - but it will not be driven usually in those conditions. My main concern is tread-life though. Not looking to buy a set of tires that will only last 10,000 miles and then need replacement again.

They are for a 2006 325i-stock 16inch rims. If anyone has any comments or suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

Projector removal DIY? Need to swap cut off shields.

I'm a dupe and forgot to check the cut off shield on the Euro's I bought. It definitely slopes the wrong way and looks like it's from a RHD car. How hard is it to remove the projector housing from these and either swap the whole projector or even just the cut off shield? Can I do it without separating the front plastic?

F32 435i with Suspension setup options

hi all

This is my first topic on this forum :)

So i have a 435i msport with adaptive suspension. I am looking to lower a bit the car as the gap from the wheel to the arch is too much !! Nearly 3 fingers goes in there with factory setup !

Important things i need :

1. Car aesthesics to be better , i am on 19" type 442 wheels

2. I dont want to loose the comfort of my car

3. I will not be going to the track

The other issue is the road surfaces in malta are not so good , i also bought ACS springs, i loved the handling but it seems i lost also some comfort and went back to stock setup , now i am seeing the car so ugly raised up again. Is it the RFT Tyres maybe that caused me some bumping with the ACS? Some mechanic told me that just changing the springs will only stiffen your ride.

So i was thinking of maybe going the coilover route. KW ddc kit looks really good but again i dont know if i will loose comfort of the car

Anyone using KW ddc or any other coilovers ?

Any input would be highly appriciated

Thanks :)

who shall i go to for my remap and maybe dpf delete?

hey guys ive got a pre lci 330d automatic

They are fast cars at top end speed but i want more off the mark accelaration speed

Also dont really want to damage the MPG as 29.4 is already hurtful

Looking to pay no more than £300. am i dreaming? :sigh:

preferably i want to remove dpf and map but whos the best place

Travelling isnt a problem

New Dates for Turn 2 Second Annual Drive A Thon

New dates! Our Second Annual Drive-A-Thon, a fundraiser for Camp Goodtimes (summer camp for kids with cancer), is now on Friday October 10th and Saturday October 11th. Join us for the last two days of the track season!

Registration: Register at http://ift.tt/1sr5b9K just like you do for all Turn 2 events. Then visit http://ift.tt/1BtK2y5 and make a $295 donation (pay your track fee) and you'll automatically receive an emailed receipt that you can submit with your tax returns.

Silent Auction/Mobile Bidding: New this year! Our silent auction is managed through mobile bidding. Bid for items directly from your cell phone or tablet (internet access required). You do not need to be present to win. Any one can bid from any where in the U.S. Register here http://ift.tt/10bWerV for the silent auction.

Cantrell Motorsports has just donated well over $1,000 worth of tools plus a corner balance and alignment for our auction. Colin and his crew are some of the best high performance techs on the west coast, and the cost for this service is normally $600.

Cantrell will also support drivers at the track on both days. They are bringing their big rig (motorized shop) out to The Ridge. We are grateful for their support, and look forward to having them participate.

The George Town Brewery has also just donated a tour and pizza party for 12 people to be auctioned off. Group 2 has just come through with 9 hours of labor. We've got Sea Hawk, Mariner and Sounder tickets and jerseys, a one day Lamborghini rental, wine, tools and much more.

We've come up with some sweet swag bags for drivers that attend both days. The first 40 drivers that sign up for both days will receive a swag bag that includes a Bimmerworld or Group 2 t-shirt, a gift certificate to 425 Motorsports or Metropolitan Detail, a Titan tape measure, a Cantrell water bottle and more.

If you can't attend the event but still want to help, you can make a donation or bid on one of the many auction items, including Sea Hawk tickets and jerseys, Mariner and Sounder tickets, condo rentals in Maui, Mazatlan and Whistler, music, wine, tools and much more. Sign up for the silent auction here.

Come on out to exercise your car, have some fun and make a difference!

Those who have broken the Intake Manifold vacuum connector

I'm ordering a brass threaded vacuum nipple to replace my glued plastic one that broke during the CP install. Would the one linked below work in 1/8 x 1/8NPT

I'm having walnut blasting performed on the car, so I intend on having this replaced at the same time since i'll have the manifold off the car. Just want to be prepared with correct materials. Thanks in advance! If you've done this repair, please list the exact fitting you used if you remember, thanks again.

2008 E90 N54 335i, 6MT, Monaco Blue, North San Diego

This is a never modded 2008 monaco blue N54 with mostly highway miles - it's now at 62K miles. I bought the car at 18 months under CPO with 9K miles on it and have babied it since. Always garaged and hand washed with the triple bucket system, clayed, waxed etc etc. The color is not that common and makes the car look really special. People always think the car is much more than it is.

The car is completely stock, the only mod I considered was a tune, but I figured the power at stock was enough and I didn't want to risk my warranty.

Although the warranty expired in mid july - it's still under the "umbrella period" where I believe a dealer will let you add on more warranty. Maintenance was always done at BMW Encinitas where it was bought. I never let the dealer wash the car.

Sport, Premium and Comfort Access options. Black leather interior with aluminum trim, moon roof, split 60/40 back seats. Because it's an 08 manual it does have the important oil cooler and it has the easily tunable n54 engine.

Tires are pretty new - michelin pilot sport RFT all around. Brakes have plenty of life left. Turbos and vacuum lines were replaced at ~50K, water pump at ~55K, cracked vent case at ~40K, HPFP twice (but not recently - new part number seemed to fix any problems), walnut blast at ~38K. The clutch is not slipping, but is the original.

Some minor curb rash on the rims that might be fixable (I haven't asked but I'm assuming it is) and two minor paint issues that if you are picky you would need to respray the panel at $500 per panel. This price is based on two independent quotes, one from the dealership, and one from a high end independent guy. Touch up paint on metallic blue just doesn't work I'm afraid as the color never matches well.

The bank still has the title (payoff is ~7K), but that shouldn't be a problem.

Updated photos to come tomorrow after I give it a wash - these photos are from when I bought it to give you an idea of what it looks like. It would make a lovely single turbo upgrade car if you're into that otherwise it's had nearly everything replaced that could go wrong. The car will be parked up in the garage until it's sold as I'm signing a lease today.

M4 First Extended Drive; Two Irritations

Well, I've had my car for 10 days and finally got around to taking it on the road yesterday for a 300 mile drive from Los Angeles to San Diego, and back. I didn't want to take it out until I got my Xpel Ultimate front coverage and my windows tinted so it was just taking up space as the reigning garage queen. Now, however she is well on her way to the 1200 mile service and establishing a bond with me.

First of all, this is a very comfortable car on the highway. The fit of the seats, the ergonomics, the features and general comfort, and its overall responsiveness and performance make this car a genuine please to drive.

Except for just two things, so far.

The small irritation first: That bright white and yellow ugly warning label on the sun visors greatly detracts from the attractiveness of the interior, especially considering that the headliner is black and contrasts so much. At times, until I got somewhat used to them my eyes would inadvertently go the visor label on my side as though it was lit up. As they are painted on, I'm considering covering them either with BBQ flat black paint, or a flat black sticker. Anyone dealt with this issue?

The second irritation, but much more significant, is the egregious dead spot I feel in the steering wheel when going straight, and the lack of steering feel at all other times. Moreover, initiating any movement of the wheel is met with a heaviness and artificiality, something akin to static friction, whereas the old systems are completely smooth and natural even with the smallest correction. Compared to the 2008 135i I had for four years, and the 2001 525iat my wife had for 12 years, both of which I would rate "A" for steering, this car gets a barely passing grade of "C" in the steering category. Because all-electric steering cannot yet provide the connected feel of a direct hydraulic electric-assisted system, I think that the M division should have stuck with hydraulics until development was much, much further along. Any chance that there will be a retrofit hydraulic-electric steering kit available?

WTB: Stage 2 Intake

I am looking to purchase a stage 2 intake for my E92 ///M

Need advice : stage 2 concerns

Guys, just looking for some friendly insight to help put my mind at ease on some of my concerns

08 335xi , 43k , Giac stage 1 , intake, upgrades suspension. injectors and hpfp replaced.

Just changed plugs

Want to go with Giac stage 2 (I have the flash already so cost is not that much plus I like the tune)

Obviously I will purchase FMIC, DPs - w/dp fix, prob a CP (retain oem DVs)

All these mods purchasing from VRSF

Concerns that I've read online and in this forum :

Wastegate rattle after DP install

Seems like it's a huge pain in ass to dial in the DP fix correctly for emissions

I won't be able to eliminate codes w/ giac tune. (I do have a BT cable though)

Giac 2 is a moderate tune. Max boost is around 17/18 I read.

Obviously turbos are under warranty for 8 years so I have another 2 years. Just would hate them to fail in general. Even more so with all mods on

So long thread. Sorry. Any insight?

Other things to consider?

Everyone's car is different I know

Stop being a pussy and do it :)

Thanks

Interior is a nice place to be

Leather, heated seats, business nav, climate control, F&R PDC are all standard with the M Sport spec

Since I've had aircon in cars, I've never been interested in sunroofs but this one is amazing - it makes the interior or the car so light & bright

Jerking while driving

Hey guys so I have 479 miles on my m4 and for some reason it jerks while I drive (especially when coming from a complete stop). Does anyone have this problem or any idea what to do?

I've only went above 4500 rpms a couple of times and drive it at varying rpms. Sometimes I get there fast letting it vary while others I cruse at around 2000

Will they fit

I currently have an X1 and a set of winter wheels/tyres with it. My new X3 is due sometime this winter ... so the question is .. will the 17 inch X1 wheels fit the x3

They are style 318 7.5 17 with ET 35

I appreciate that the tyres are the wrong profile buy if I can just put different size tyres on the X1 rims it would save me a lot of expense

So anyone got any ideas as to whether they will fit ?

Anyone else on the Georgia Highway?

Cooperative upgrades/maintenance meet and greet?

So, I've done this before with previous cars, but wondering if the wonderful world of BMW owners are willing to get together for a meet where each person offers up services to each other. For instance, I can offer:

Coding/Diagnostics with NCSExpert, WinKFP, INPA, and DIS. I have a laptop and cable setup already. Will have another laptop cloned, but no 2nd cable, to allow programming more than one car at a time.

DP Fix. I can create them the same way I made mine (two independent DP Fix to allow discrete O2 signals for each bank). I can also take requests to make them with potentiometers to allow you to adjust if you need to. The parts are <$10 and simple to solder up. I'm still at a loss why people pay up to $100 for it, and an inferior shared source signal setup at that.

Fuel Injector/Spark Plug/Coil Pack/Battery swaps and coding (if needed).

2015-1 Premium NAV updates (3-Part Version for USB or DVD installation). You supply the USB/DVDs so we can all do it together. I have the software (FSC Generator), but don't have access to an ICOM cable. If enough people are willing to do it and willing to provide a nominal donation for the update, I can look into buying the cable. Hopefully someone can provide as part of this meet.

Following would require access to a washroom, air compressor, and/or jacks/lift:

Suspension/exhaust swaps/Transmission Fluid change/brake job/FMIC Install.

Walnut blasting (I haven't done it on a 335i yet, but have experience with it). This would require holding the meet where someone has access to a large compressor. Since this takes a while, I think this may be a specialty thing...

Anyone interested in such a meet?

What I would like someone else to provide:

ICOM Cable so I can get my FSC Code generated.

For those who would like some of these services, but have no skills/services to provide, bring some food, drinks, entertainment, and good attitude.

If you're interested, post the following:

Car (Year/Model/Engine/Trans): 2010 E93 335i N54 AT

Mods you need help with: ICOM Cable to capture and generate FSC code.

Services willing to offer: General Coding, Alpina B3 AT Transmission Flash Diagnostics, 2015-1 Premium Map updates, Injector/Plug/Coil Pack swaps, and custom DP fixes.

Location: Northeast NJ (Bergen County)

I'm hoping to get this in before the cold weather really sets in. Also willing to provide VAGCOM coding services if anyone has a need for that. Anyone interested?

Production Delays (updated)

Just for those that are waiting to enter productions. This is my situations.

Order is: MWM, M3, CFR, BLK19s, active, LEDs, FULL Black Leather, Exec, Bluetooth, DCT Trans, driver assist, etc. no CCB

Mine was in production scheduled 112 status 4 times. Week 39, 37, 38, 40 and now 49. Order placed in early August, status is and has been Priority 1 Sold.

From the dealer last week:

Jamie,

Here is the response I got from BMW NA on your M3.

“Hi Jeffery,

I’m fairly confident that the scheduled week 40 build will hold on this one.”

Does not sound set in stone, but that’s all we are going to get for now. It’s encouraging though.

From the dealer this week:

Jamie,

Don’t know why yours was bumped. It’s nothing personal, just bad luck of the draw. I got an email response from Tom at BMW and he said that they are having an extremely hard time producing the M3 and M4’s because of all of the restrictions. Ie. Carbon fiber roofs, ceramic brakes and 19” wheels etc. maybe your car had more than one restricted part. You had 19” wheels and carbon fiber roof, don’t know if you ordered the ceramic brakes or not. It is just a bad situation.

There is nothing we can do to speed up production as a dealer. I feel bad for you.

Jeff

What are people's opinions on these tail lights? Are they an upgrade to the blacklines or do they just look messy?

For those ordering the Black 19" 437 M Wheels

Are you planning on any aftermarket wheels or pretty much thinking of staying with these wheels? Any input on how much these weigh? I have always had Volk TE37 SL's on all my previous M's and this is the first set of OEM wheels I have seen that looks somewhat appealing. Am wondering if it's worth spending the extra $1200 or save that and use towards the Volks?

Priced to sell: n55 AR catless downpipes and Cyba diamond black quad tips

Hello Everyone!

I'm selling an N55 AR Catless Downpipe with only 3 months of usage. The reason I'm selling is because I decided to go in a different direction. As most people know, these downpipes are the best quality on the market, and you can certainly tell when you closely examine its material.

PRICE: $380 OBO

I'm also selling a pair of Quad Black Chrome Cyba Tips. Cyba is known on these forums for making awesome tips. The fitment is a little off on one of the tips, but you can hardly tell. The reason I'm selling is because bought a more expensive pair of tips that I liked. My loss, your gain.

PRICE: $75 OBO

Both of these are OBO, so please offer up! I am located in Orange County, CA. Local is preferred, but I WILL consider shipping for the right price.

Please PM for my number to text for more info!

Badging a 328i 330i

So I bought a 330i badge for my 328xiT. I hate BMW and their naming system but wanted to do the 3-stage manifold conversion before I did.

Now I'm not sure when it will happen. Since it's a 3.0 N52 would it be appropriate?

I'm not the guy to badge ///M or do a Persian Conversion.

Key fob battery replacement

I think my key fob battery is already dying after only 1 year. I feel like the range is not what it used to be. Now I have to take it out of my pocket or it won't work. Sounds like the battery is low.

  • Is there some kind of warning on the dashboard when the key fob battery is low?

  • Is the replacement of the battery covered in the warranty in the US?

135i vs m3

Ran my buddy yesterday a few times. He has an E92 M3 with intake and axle back 6mt. I have a 135i N54 auto with FMIC, charge pipe, berk mids, and axle back running cobb stage 1+ aggr. Took him every time three runs, one from a dead stop others from 20 mph roll. took him by car and ahalf from rolls took him by two from dead stop. overall was happy with the car. cant wait to do downpipes and upgrade my LPFP to make some serious power. All I could think about after is how bad this car needs an LSD. FML$

BMWhat App

Have only just heard about this after reading a thread on here earlier.

I've one a quick search and seems like it could come in pretty handy. I know there's probably all the info I need in the forum somewhere but I don't have much time to search and if it does what I'm thinking it does I'd need to buy it very soon!

My car is an E92 320d N47 12/2007.

I want to code my rear LCI lights that I installed ages ago because I've still never got the double speed blinking sorted! Is this possible? Also I have a fault code on my dash which I was hoping to erase, again is this possible?

I'm thinking I can buy the full app and a wifi connector off them? (or is there a cheaper alternative that can be used) and then use my iPhone to do what I have described.. as well as any other things I want to play about with if possible.

Basically just wanting to know if I am able to do this ok?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Need to sort these things out before my MOT which is due!

Exchange of camera black spot. Newcastle upon Tyne

Yes I'm a reasonably temperate driver but have been done here as have most of my friends!

anyone in Newcastle's West End should be very careful of Stamfordham Road from jaguar garage/macdonalds roundabout to Cowgate roundabout. Every week there is a mobile camera here because it's a cash cow for newcastle police.

A good dual lane road with two lanes of traffic and the inner lane doing 30mph.

The outlier lane regularly travelling at 35mph like me and fair game for a £100 fine . Nice money if you can get it, tip is to stay always in the inner lane.

F/S.F/T Rennen C10 wheels and tires, MINT CONDITION

Hi i am selling my Rennen C10. The wheels are in absolute mint condition. Not a single scratch, crack, or bend in any of the wheels. Im simply selling them because I do not have my 5 series anymore, i have a 2011 335xi now which is why i am willing to trade for another set of wheels as well. Not too sure what i want to trade but nothing bigger then 19in but if you have an offer that will fit my car i will be happy to hear it. The size of these wheels are FRONT 245-35-20 and REAR 275-30-20. I have Hankook Ventus v12 on and they are practically brand new. I only put about 5k miles on these wheels. I am asking $1300 price negotiable. Not really sure how much it would cost to ship them so i would prefer local pickup otherwise the buyer is responsible for shipping costs. Feel free to message me with any questions.
