Hi,
I have just joined this forum in the hope someone can give me some good advice. My BMW E93 has been off the road since January.
After a weekend away, my BMW would not start first time as it normally would and when it eventually did it felt like it was misfiring.
To cut a long story short, the car was towed to Mark Purcell's in Oxford who I have a lot of confidence in and it turned out the engine is drawing in water and it was suggested I either scrap the car or find a second hand engine.
I decided to go down the route of getting another engine but none have come available, ones on eBay are either too expensive to justify repairing the car or the sellers have bad history when you google them.
I have been offered 2.5K for the car for Salvage which I think is too low but then spending more than 2.5K on an engine and fitting means the car is not worth fixing.
Does anyone have any advice as to what I could do. Friends have said about getting the head gasket taken off but others and Mark Purcell's have suggested otherwise. I am not very car savvy so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
