1 series 1.6 petrol efficiency

Hi all new to forum but I have recently bought a 116i and love the car but find the economy quite disappointing. I drive carefully and in the eco mode but seem to only manage 350 miles on a full tank. I drive about 14 miles to work all motorway but cannot manage more than 35 mpg? :confused2
