I should mention this now - the car is registered as a CATEGORY D write off - the car was written off due to vandalism... It has had NO ACCIDENTS in its entire life...
The car itself is a 6 speed manual (rare) 335i with 81500 on the clock (increasing as it is my daily)... Over its life, it has had the turbos replaced (around 60k, costing 7k at BMW), the HPFP replaced (around 78k costing £1.5k at A1BN) and the brake pump replaced (I don't know the exact mileage as I wasn't the owner but I think 45k costing £2k)... Until a few months after owned it, it had warranty so any issues were sorted with BMW... The car has had numerous services and at one point in my ownership, every single fluid you could think of being replaced (around 70k)... Full service history as expected but from my ownership I took it to a specialist as I trust their work more... It has also had a walnut blast (done when the HPFP was being replaced) and all ignition coils and spark plugs changed around the same time… It has recently had the alignment done too... I have a big inventory of paperwork for the car… I am the 8th owner but that’s normal for these sporty convertibles - people buy in the summer and sell in the winter… I have owned this car for almost 3 years (purchased in June 2013 @ 48k)...
The car has all the standard options + CIC satnav (from the facelift model), heated full electric seats and hill start assist... Everything else that comes with every e92/3 is there too but you know it so I won't bother writing it out...
Now on to the mod list, which is pretty massive:
---Visuals---
-Exterior-
It has a custom 1M style bumper, made by Prior designs; custom headlights - blue demon eyes, full blackout and LED rings + LCI style eyebrows and indicator shrouds; a GTRS M3 style carbon fibre bonnet, matte black kidney grills, M3 carbon fibre mirrors, M3 style side skirts, M-Sport rear bumper with performance diffuser, 4" burnt tip exhausts and a CSL carbon fibre bootlid... It also has OEM LCI tail lights… The wheels are Squared SD6s - lightweight 3 piece 19s with polished lips and purple centres (these are the only set in the world AFAIK - the company who makes them closed down) (specs are 19x9j et25 with 225/35 and 19x11j et30 with 275/30 - Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas all round)...
All of this is wrapped in 3M Gloss Green Envy - a colour that needs to be seen to be appreciated… 20% tints at the rear also - fully legal…
-Interior-
It has M3 seats, black nappa leather with blue stitching and it has a custom hydrodipped trim set with the joker theme… Also a custom made centre console to house the Alpine control unit for the sound system - more on that later… It also has an 1M retrimmed steering wheel and an E60 sport gear knob - the car is an SE but feels like an M-Sport (only thing that’s missing is the M-Sport kickplates, I’ve never bothered changing them)...
---Performance---
The car has a JB4 G5 installed and set to autotuning (Map 5) - Google JB4 if you don't know what it is, the easiest/cost effective way to gain circa 100bhp... I have also built and installed a custom cold air intake with K&N filters either side - hard to explain this one but see build thread... Cyba scoops have been installed behind the grills… It also has a PE exhaust mod which makes it sound epic - not sure it goes any faster though... Suspension is BC Type RA coilovers with adjustable dampening and camber alongside OEM M3 arms at the front... Cambered at 2 degrees in the front and 3 at rear - it drives really well, plenty of grip with good cornering stability… Brakes have been upgraded to Mtech discs and EBC Yellow Stuff pads - awesome stopping power...
And finally
---Sounds & Security---
The car has a fully custom digital sound kit... It involves Focal KRS fronts with tweeters, along side Kicker midbass subwoofers under the seats... With that, there are Focal speakers in the rears and one in the front centre... There are 2 10" JL W6v2 subwoofers in a custom ported enclosure running 1200W RMS on their own... I think it’s safe to say, this is the only ported box with 2 subwoofers in an E93 in the world... All of this is powered by 3 Pioneer Class D amps and an Alpine processor to enable the crispy sound we all look for… The system can get very very loud but stay distortion free - 9 speakers, 2 subs running circa 2000W RMS… To look after the car, I have had a Clifford alarm system installed which works along side the OEM system - it has an extremely loud alarm attached to a tilt, shock and proximity sensor - if someone goes too close the car, it let’s everyone aware… It also has a hidden OBD switch… After the vandalism and stories of cars getting stolen, I felt this was necessary… Also, a whole bunch of stuff has been coded into the car like remote folding mirrors etc.
The bad bits:
It has a couple of dings - I will point both out to you - they are not noticeable unless you look for them…
The wrap is a little worn out and not done 100% so I would get it rewrapped...
It has been very low for the last 2 years so the bumper is scraped up underneath… Also the underside of the car is pretty scraped up but nothing damaged as such…
Sometimes, the front driver side corner of the roof drips water - it’s very very occasional, and usually when the car’s parked at a steep incline facing downwards...
The wheels rub when driving hard but I like how it sits... The wheels also need a little polishing, very easy to do...
The arches have been flared, so i'm guessing with narrow wheels it'll look weird lol...
The paint underneath is good, except the front bumper and side skirts - they need a respray - also the driver side wing is unpainted...
I understand this car is only for some tastes so if I don't get any reasonable offers in the next few months, I will spend Autumn taking it apart and selling each mod on its own... I've spent well over 30k on this car (no, I don't expect to get it back at all)... I have an excel sheet which shows almost every mod done and prices it up - I will show you if interested… I have also made an excel sheet which gives the rough value of each mod right now, with the car and the total is £18k - for example, the wheels are worth £2g minimum, the seats are £750 minimum, the LCI lights are £450 minimum and the wing mirrors are £350 minimum - that’s £3.5g+ for 4 mods...
I will post up some interior pictures when I've cleaned it up a little...
Here is the build thread:
