Noob looking to do a few mobs

Well, I've had a number of cars and trucks in the last and a few bmws, but my recent purchase has been the funest. Now I want to make it a bit faster. How much? I'd like to make take some of the newer Union built American care such as GTs, and other 400+ americano autos...

So I now have a 2008 stock 335i convertable. I love the turbos and never experiences anything like it with response. I have 3k I can drop in it. Only problem is I don't have any a performance center for BMW where in live (Oklahoma). But I guess Dallas isn't too far away.

So any suggestions on where to start and what to expect? I've heard tuners like JB4 are a must and I've read about needing walnut cleaning every 30k before tuning to get max power. Then there are the coolers and pipes. So it can get a little confusing. . Anyway I'd appreciate any help.
