Wanted to share my experience I had over the weekend in case it happens to anyone else.
It was a very cold Friday morning and it took two attempts to start my car, which had never happened to me before, but I figured it was just the cold.
Fast forward to lunch time. I put the key in and all lights and radio come on, but when I press the start button...nothing. No crank, no stutter, NOTHING. Only the faint whine of something trying to turn.
I grabbed the multimeter and checked the battery which read around 11.5 volts. Tried jumping it with a co-workers car (battery now around 13 volts), but still nothing. While attempting to jump, a battery showed up on the warning indicator in the dash. I though, ok...its the battery.
Got her towed in and the shop says it was a dead starter motor and low battery (possibly due to trying to start with a dead starter motor). 800 bucks later shes back on the road. Will update if any further related issues arise.
