Rear suspension creak

I have the infamous rear suspension creak! I think it is the ball joint. It is my understanding that you need a ball joint press. I saw a diy on an e39 where they used a press that looked like a large c-clamp with a few different size cups that could fitted at either end of the screw.



I know you can rent one at autozone.



Has anyone used this type of press on their e90?



I have an 07 335i Sedan.



I think the ball joint on the drivers side rear is bad. I will probably buy OEM ball joints.



There is a decent diy on pelican's site. They used a different press and this press costs $159.00 on Bav auto site. Not interested in purchasing a $159.00 tool I might use 2 times or so in the next 10 years.
