This week has been a bit sh*t for myself and the car..problems at work just getting delayed for no reason and even out of work got shat in the face..let me explain.
called JAX in philip last week to schedule my new wheels to have tyres put on and fitted onto the car. explained I have the wheels and tyres, just need them fitted. Agreed to have it done tuesday morning. my work decals still hasnt arrived at this stage but i'll go ahead anyway. come tuesday, i present myself in the car and my wife in hers carrying a set of wheels and tyres - what response do i get from the guy at the desk -> "Oh, I dont like doing these things..things like these..how do they look like, just show me the wheels first before driving in. I show him the wheels, he sees a bit of a mark on the seats of the bolts - "so these are used?" promptly i replied saying they were showroom models, not fitted to a car..still not believing me he asks to bring the car around and inspect everything in the ground. i proceed to do so and asked,"mate what do you mean you dont like doing these things?" he goes on saying,"oh i've done these before and had to pay dearly for damages on the wheels when the owners claim they werent there before"..I flip and went "just look at them and tell me if there's a bloody nick - cos I bought them new so they bloody should come back to me as it arrived here now" we have a proper look and then he said ok leave it and we'll let you know when its ready.."but i wont be doing things like these anymore in the future" - whatever man
time goes by I get a txt around 2pm your car's ready..I come around 4pm to get the other wheels, which they just roll them out and put onto tarmac - I had 4 perfectly sized boxes from the new wheels for the removed wheels and tyres to be put in but no, they just bring out the boxes and wheels and left it there for me to put each and every one of them and load it onto wife's car..i send her off and proceed to the cashier; i mean yeah its the end of the day, everyone's tired but seriously, I'm a doctor, do i operate on patients bit less carefully towards the end of the day? dont think so. so why not take pride in what you do and finish up the job properly
at the cashier, i talk to the same guy - he produces invoice - i pay by card and then he tells me,"oh the key on your locking bolts dont fit on the wheels..so here they are in a bag" thanking him i walked away not thinking anything of it apart from need to buy a different set then. I walk to the car, inspect everything and drive off back to the hospital. in the parking lot, just admiring the wheels then did i notice - they have just left the 5th bolt slot blank..so just 4 bolts, no replacement with another one..nothing. i call him on the phone and ask - "sorry mate we dont have any spare bolts" - just WTF just happened here??? by this time it was too late to go anywhere else. I'm not sure if it does pose a safety risk but i drive home and go back to work next day - today
I go off to another tyre shop i called earlier in the day and they had some cheap lock nuts 60/set - I go around and the guy starts working on the car - he comes back to me - "buddy the right front wheels, I cant put the locking bolt in - whoever put your wheels in, they've destroyed most of the thread in the hub and just forced your bolts in. its the same with the other wheels but they werent as bad as this one. I come around and have a look due to the guy trying, there's now a bit of paint chipping off the new wheels!!! F**k me!! paid the guy and drive off fuming at the whole thing. he did recommend to me a guy to get a thread repair - charges 110 for call out and then 11/each for following threads.
so to say i'm pissed off this week is an understatement - I just thought I would warn fellow forumers and others who go through the web about this..So now i'll need to get threads repaired, a touch up on the wheels and then get my coils sorted cos i cant do it at this stage..
