Defiv came up with the orginal lockdown kit for our platform, but at an eye watering $750 USD. Not long after, someone may or may not have stolen his design and the result was this:
I contacted him and was about to purchase one and he told me for whatever reason, that he had a cheaper solution that does the same thing:
He had both in stock and I quizzed him as to why he would offer me a cheaper solution. I told him money wasn't the issue and I didn't want to save $50 if it didn't work as well. I have however noticed many other companies/places now making these plate style lockdown kits and everyone reporting them to work and do just the same as the others.
Here was my line of enquiry:
Me: How come the plate is stronger? Is that proven? The kit looks more comprehensive though
Him:The kit still allows for some movement of the diff whereas the plate doesn't. If you do a lot of launches the plate will last longer.
Me: I have le big power. Is good?
Him: Honestly I think better off with a plate.
These plate kits are $150 USD plus $35 USD for shipping and are available for small diffs and large diffs. So why is this a FS thread you ask? Well I had a brain explosion at 5am whilst drunk and I thought a few of the high powered Aussie cars will want these and I went ahead and bought four so we could split the shipping costs. I got two for large diffs (one for me) and two small diffs.
I am asking $200 AUD each for these which is my credit card equivalent of $150 USD, no need to pay any shipping costs. I'll post for free or meet up in Sydney.
