Stripped wheel stud

I tried to changed the brakes on my e90 xi and one of the bolts were over tightened. Upon trying to break it loose I think I stripped it. I tried to use a 17mm socket and a breaker bar and it just slides around. Any idea what I should do next? I've been changing breaks for over 10 years and I've never had an issue like this. should I call it quits and take it in to a shop?

Also are they called lug nuts or wheel studs? I want to replace them if they're worn i've just never had anything these before.
